In Maharajganj, an assault occurred on December 23rd at Kathara Khas Tola Usrahwa Nursery, under the Kotwali police station’s jurisdiction. Local resident Gudiya Devi filed a complaint, leading the police to register an FIR against six accused individuals and begin their investigation. Gudiya alleged that while sweeping the doorway, she was abused by Milan, a resident of the same village. When she resisted, Milan attacked her with kicks, punches and sticks. Hearing the commotion, Gudiya’s husband Vijay Sahani came out of the house and confronted the attacker. This prompted Milan’s friends Dashrath, Suresh, Swaminath, Nirmala and Sarpathahi to gather. The accused then launched a violent attack on the couple. Vijay Sahani sustained serious injuries to his head, arms and body while Gudiya also suffered deep head and arm injuries. The accused even threatened to kill her. Station House Officer Nirbhay Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused Milan, Dashrath, Suresh, Swaminath, Nirmala and Sarpatahi based on Gudiya’s complaint.
