The named accused include councillor Mohammad Zubair, Vinod Srivastava, Irfan, Ajay Shahi, Kedarnath, Ramesh Gupta, Mohammad Aqeel, Abdul Samad, Mohammad Suhail, Mohammad Shaif Ansari, Mohammad Razzaq, Aftab Mohammad, Arif son of Rehmanullah and Mohammad Wasim son of Mohammad Ahmed. Additionally, 25 unidentified individuals have also been charged.

Reports indicate that Salim, a resident of Shaheed Abdullah Nagar, Gorakhnath police station, was electrocuted while performing electrical repairs near Mohanlalpur well. He was rushed to the district hospital in critical condition but unfortunately, doctors declared him dead. Salim’s body was subsequently placed in the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

It is alleged that a large crowd, led by Salim’s family and local councillor Mohammad Zubair, gathered outside the mortuary gate. This angered the crowd and they blocked the road, disrupting the movement of patients, attendants, ambulances and doctors to and from the hospital.

CO Kotwali Omkar Dutt Tiwari stated that the matter is under investigation and further action will be taken based on the evidence.
